Pre and Post Operative Care
Complete medical clearance is required within 30 days of all out-patient surgical procedures in our ambulatory surgery center. Pre and post-operative eye medication may also be required. Prescriptions will be given during your meeting with the surgical coordinator. You may continue all of your current eye medications and/or daily systemic medications until instructed otherwise.
You will need to arrange to have a friend or family member transport you to surgery, home, and back to the surgeon’s office for your one-day post-op check. Additional post-op visits will be scheduled thereafter. If you are traveling from out of town, your surgeon will discuss the expected period of time that you will be required to remain in Florida for your recovery. In some cases, air travel may not be permitted during a specific period of recovery. This will be discussed with you by your surgeon if applicable.
