Philip Laird, M.D.
Philip Laird, M.D. is a native Floridian who graduated with Honors from University of Florida. While at Florida, he was a member of the varsity Track & Field and Cross Country teams. He is a recipient of the College of Health and Human Performance Outstanding Young Alumnus Award.
Dr. Laird then attended medical school at Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minnesota and was awarded the Dean’s Award as well as a National Eye Institute research award. He then completed a General Surgery internship at the Mayo Clinic in Jacksonville, Florida.
Dr. Laird attained his formal Ophthalmology training at Emory University in Atlanta, Georgia. After completing residency, he stayed at Emory for a two-year fellowship in Vitreoretinal Disease and Surgery.
Dr. Laird has published numerous manuscripts and book chapters in the field of Ophthalmology and Retina and has presented his research at national forums. He is an investigator in multiple clinical trials and currently serves as a reviewer for the American Journal of Ophthalmology.
Dr. Laird is a Board-Certified Ophthalmologist specializing in all aspects of Vitreoretinal disease and surgery. He is an active member of the American Society of Retina Specialists and the American Academy of Ophthalmology.
Outside of medicine, Dr. Laird lives in Jupiter and is happily married with two children. He enjoys distance running, traveling, and spending time with his family.
